Celkon Launched the A119 Signature HD last month for Rs. 13,499. We brought youunboxing of the celkon a119 earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Celkon A119 packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display at 295 PPI, powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor clocked at 1 GHz with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We reviewed the Xolo A1000 recently which has a similar processor and a HD display. Let’s see how the device performs in the benchmark tests.

Celkon is relatively new to the space and with the launch of the A119 Signature HDd, it follows the legion of Indian “manufacturers” who make smartphones in China. With a respectable spec sheet, the A119 Signature HD is aimed at upsetting the established players like Micromax and karbonn, vying for the coveted “most value for money” device that is ever to land in the market. The box comes with all the necessary accessories and components that you usually see these days. There is the device of course, the micro USB cable, the travel adaptor and the in ear headset. Along with all the components comes the usual assortment of information booklets, the user guide and the warranty card.

Our first impressions have been really good so far. The build quality is surprisingly decent, with a solid reaffirming feel in the hand. The 1280×720 display at 5 inches has a 294 ppi of pixel density and looks like it is pretty much the same as the one of the Micromax A116 Canvas HD, so that means it is pretty great too. Powered by a MediaTek MT6557 Dual Core 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor, and 1 GB of RAM, with graphics powered by the PowerVR SGX 531, this might not be a powerhouse if you are looking for that kind of a device. We noticed a bit of lag and stutter to back that claim.
