The HTC One bought along a whole bunch of new things, such as the fully metal build, the stereo Boom Sound Speakers and the Ultrapixel camera, and the company is so happy with the response it’s gotten that they’re bringing said features along with future HTC devices, like the “HTC 606w” which popped up in a Chinese phone database.
I’m sure 606w is a codename, so the verdict is still out on what this phone will actually be called though rumors are this is the HTC M4, a non-Facebook version of the HTC First. You’ll notice that there’s dual speaker grilles framing the front of the phone, implying the presence of Boom Sound, and the model was supposed to get an UltraPixel camera, as well. Other rumors indicate specs like a 1.2GHz SoC (maybe the Snapdragon 400, like in the First) and 1GB of RAM, with this being a mid-range device.
The database entry also mentions a 4.5-inch qHD screen, but rumors were that the M4 would have the HTC First’s 4.3-inch 720p display, so that’s a bit of a puzzle. Hopefully this phone will be officially announced soon enough.
