Mahindra Quanto compact SUV for Indian market

Mahindra Quanto is first vehicle by M&M having 7(5+2)seats in sub 4m class.It is actually a Hatchback with features and comfort of SUV. It may be called as compact SUV or MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle). Mahindra & Mahindra has launched this mini SUV in four variants C2, C4, C6 and C8  with a starting price of Rs. 5.82 lakh, going up to Rs. 7.36 lakh for top variant. All variants will come with Diesel Engine.

Quanto is powered by1.5 liter mCR100 engine with a twin-stage turbo which is capable of producing 98.6bhp and 24.4kgm of torque mated to a five-speed gearbox. M&M is developing another is engine for Quanto with 4×4 variant. Mahindra Quanto is built on same framework on which Xylo is built. According to sources the 70% parts used in Quanto are from Xylo hence help in increasing production and decreasing production cost.

So what is special about Quanto, This is first ever MPV in sub 4m category in the country and will give tough competion to hatchback and cars like Swift, i20, Ritz, Renault Duster, Ford Figo in terms of pricing. Quanto gives mileage of 17.2Kmpl with its 1.5L engine. Quanto offers good boot space with its foldable rear seats to carry luggage on long trips. Sporty roof rails gives sporty look to this vehicle. It offers four-way seat adjusting to driver seat for comfortable ride. Micro Hybrid Technology is used in Quanto which automatically puts engine to standby mode 2.5 seconds after you shift gear to neutral  and engine starts again as you get back on clutch hence increase in fuel efficiency. It also offers Digital Drive System similar available in Xylo. It offer Date/Time, Inside/Outside temperature, mileage on the move etc.

Quanto offers mobile charging points at every row so that you can charge your mobile on the go. It also features tilt steering so that it can be adjusted according to drivers comfort. Foldable Snack are there behind first row for snacking during long drives. There are 5 bottle holders in Quanto to hold your bottles o long drive. It also features lockable under seat storage to store your valuables when you leave your vehicle on tour.

On safety & security side Quanto has Intellipark Reverse Assist and gives beep when any object comes in the area of 120 cm. Fog lamps, Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and Engine Immobilizer are some more features. The top variant C8 gets Alloy wheels, power windows, body colored bumpers,  fog lamps, rear defogger,  dual airbags, reverse sensor, and Integrated Audio system with many more features to explore.

Quanto is offered in 15″ wheel size still giving good ground clearance.

Mahindra & Mahindra will soon start exporting Quanto to European and South African markets. Quanto will be offered with 2 years/50,oookm warranty as standard.
